Our mission is simple - build a massive, thriving, player-driven economy in a cozy RPG setting.
In order to achieve this the game will be built out in phases, with each “phase” leading onto the next one.
Phase 1: Fishing --> we are here!
Phase 2: Cooking
Phase 3+: Adventures, Farming & more
We prefer to ship features rather than hype roadmaps, so you can expect to learn more information on these as they are ready.
We are also working on some major partnerships that should bring Fishing Frenzy to many more players and platforms.
To understand our roadmap, its important to also understand our game core pillars.
Our team strongly believes that crypto games should be different compared with traditional games. Blockchain fundamentally enables ownership, financialisation, incentives, and speculation - and crypto games should embrace these aspects rather than shy away from them.
In Fishing Frenzy, a big part of the fun of the game will be participating in the economy.
Just like how people in the real world specialise with different skills and jobs, we want to create an in-game economy where players will need to trade, specialise and strategise as they progress.
Most teams are creating crypto games which don’t actually need blockchain. We believe this is a wasted opportunity.
Fishing Frenzy aims to onboard players, regardless of whether they know about crypto or not, into what it means to have fun on-chain.
This means minting and trading assets, taking risks to turn a profit, and trying to out-skill and out-strategise your opponents for rewards.
As crypto natives, we understand that a big part of having fun on-chain is making profit (or trying to). We will create opportunities for players to do this. There won’t be a free lunch though - players who take the biggest risk or are the most competitive will get a larger share of rewards.
There is no playbook for building economies in web3. Many things can go wrong and we believe that building in stealth with no community input can lead to disaster.
As such, we are taking a unique approach where we plan to launch and iterate on the game in phases.
Currently we are in phase 1, where it’s all about catching fish. Later on we want to expand into more game loops so players can begin to specialize into different ways of playing.
Imagine being able to cook your fish. Imagine using food to go on adventures. Imagine owning rivers and hosting fishing competitions on them.
These are all possible, and players who contribute to the earlier phases will benefit with rewards that help in the future phases.
