Fishing Challenge Events

Rift Encounters are special fishing encounters that can occur during specific events.

When any fish is caught during the event, there is a chance of the catch triggering a Rift Encounter, depending on the fish's rarity and whether it is shiny.

If the encounter is triggered, the fish can be sacrificed to challenge the Encounter, which is more difficult than normal.

Upon successfully passing the Encounter, it is possible to receive special Rift Fish as a reward, or the sacrificed fish back. Note that the Encounter does not grant any additional fishing EXP.

Rift Fish

Rift Fish can be used to exchange for special event rewards, such as exclusive pets.

There are no shiny versions of Rift Fish.

Rift Encounter Pity

Rift Encounters have a pity mechanic where sacrificing a Shiny Mythic regular fish will give 1 pity.

After accumulating 2 pity, sacrificing a fish that triggers will guarantee a Mythic Rift fish.

Pity is reset to 0 after catching a Mythic Rift fish.

x5 and x20 fishing will multiply both pity given and pity required.

Detailed Pity Explanation

Take the following example:

1) x20 fishing, sacrifice Sardine, no mythic Rift fish

2) x5 fishing, sacrifice Shiny Frog, no mythic Rift fish

3) x20 fishing, sacrifice Frog, no mythic Rift fish

4) x1 fishing, sacrifice Sardine, rift encounter

In this example, pity works as follows:

1) No pity

2) 5 (1 * 5) pity, 10 (2 * 5) pity required

3) Still 5 pity, 40 (2 * 20) pity required

4) 2 pity required, rift encounter will yield a mythic Rift fish

5) Player catches mythic Rift fish, pity resets to 0
